1. Can you share a bit about your background in soccer and how you became involved in coaching?

"I was a youth soccer player for Arsenal FC.  I was lucky enough to get a scholarship to play in college at Azusa Pacific and then transferred to Cal State San Bernardino.  After my college career was over, I was lucky enough to play in the MLS and USL for two years.  I was still wanting to be involved in the game.  I obtained a job working for Junior Gonzalez at University of California at Riverside as an assistant coach and became a club director.  I found my true passion of coaching and developing soccer players.  I have been fortunate to have a successful career in the game."

2. What inspired you to pursue a career as a soccer coach, and what do you find most rewarding about coaching?

"I personally love to get with the players and develop them over the time.  Working in a team environment for a common goal and helping these players accomplish team goals of achievements is something very special.  The most inspirational moment about coaching with the Empire Strykers is watching these professional players affect the community through after school programs, camps, clinics, and events."

3. How would you describe your coaching philosophy and style? What values or principles do you prioritize in your coaching approach?

"My coaching philosophy is a very holistic style of teaching that is player centered. I believe that coaching and teaching are the same thing.  I prioritize the fundamentals of the teaching and learning with repetition and decision making through the process of development."

4. Can you talk about your experience coaching different age groups and skill levels? How do you adapt your coaching style to meet the needs of different players?

"The key to being a great coach in my eyes, is being able to look through the players' eyes.  See what they are seeing.  This creates a clear and present picture of the degree of difficulty or breaking the game down to simplest form possible."

5. What do you believe are the most important qualities or skills for a successful soccer player, and how do you work to develop those in your players?

"Being able to adapt, evolve, and implementation.  These three qualities can really help players succeed.  They are very difficult and take time to master.  They are keys that all the greats have mastered and excelled in their sport."
