Interpretations

This is the first photo of a painting I took at the Getty. Camilla thought this painting was scary looking so I took the liberty to post it just for her! :D What I like about it most is the description, "evoking a child's perceptions of a world scaled for grown-ups" because the main focus is according to a child in the work. After I read the description I stared at the painting for a while thinking about how children must interpret this incomprehensible world built for adults. I like how the artist made everything so large around the little girl who stands somewhere in between apprehension, love and wonder.
I like this painting all the way from this guy's pose to his expressions, fashion and movement. The portrait evokes a relaxing and lite energy, that of which I thoroughly enjoy.
This painting is one of my very favorite. I like the look of the girl, the colors used to frame and outline her features, her expression and the entire scheme of the portrait. I suppose I was drawn so much to this one because I can identify with and almost see myself in her.
This painting... I mean, how would you not think its amazing? This piece by Claude Monet makes me want to just hop in and get on one of the boats to see what's going on. The painting is stunning, to say the least.

More to come from the Getty. I hope you are enjoying your introductory impromptu tour. :)
