Ed Sheeran - Photograph (Official Music Video)

Shall We

If time heals, shall we be more like time?
Consistent, yet ever changing.
Predictable, yet forward moving.
Timeless and of the essence.
Somewhat unstoppable, unchangeable, unmanageable and everlasting.

Wicked / Challenge Compilation (Musical.ly)

Universal Love

Different languages exist for various reasons, some of which I have no idea and others I can make educated guesses as to why. It’s like having a ceiling over our head telling us what is possible and how far we can reach. Then, we go outside and realize we can view the sky and be among the stars by flying. Beyond that, there is a place that exists farther than what we can see with our eyes where a rocket ship can fly us to the moon and different planets.

If the main language at Disneyland is music, people are United beyond the realm of "normal" senses of understanding which makes sense as to why it is referred to as “The Happiest Place on Earth”. As we are happy when United by music, language and the appreciation of it. We feel music with our heart, see music and may or may not know how to read it, hear music and can determine how we'd like to interpret it, etc.

It brings great satisfaction to see people of all kinds being united through music.

Star Bucks by Suzie Sateri

I went into the Starbucks at Downtown Disney and I asked if I could get a discount for having a Disneyland Annual Pass. I was told I could not get a discount at that Starbucks but I could get a discount at the Starbucks inside of Disneyland. The reason being that the Starbucks (there are two of them) in Downtown Disneyland is a corporate one and the one inside of Disneyland (and there is one at California Adventure) is a franchise.

Taking a Break From Disneyland

Just to share some thoughts...

I appreciate people who have remained in uniform though their clothing might not be/have been testament. Uniform meaning, people who don’t change character and remain the same at all times. The truth is, we are ever changing human beings who can only strive to be more consistent and true to who we are at all times through any given opportunity. Other than that, good, honest intentions and a true heart can carry us through each day.

Just some questions I’ve been pondering...

What happens when someone falls down whether they are in uniform or not? Is it not a process to get back up? And sometimes a process in which we need help from others?

How do we know when someone is kneeling that they are not praying?

The Magic in People

Once upon a time there are people who have or will walk into your life and change it forever. They change it not because of who they are, but who you are when you are with them. You can find freedom in people. People who stand by you when you express yourself like a dark character and people who stand by you when you express yourself like a star. There are also people in between who love you just the way you are, either way. Most of the time, they are one in the same, just as you are.

Tortilla Jo's

We were blessed with the opportunity to eat dinner at Tortilla Jo's, located at 1510 Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, CA 92802. This restaurant is located in the Downtown Disney area where a Disneyland pass or ticket is not needed to walk through, dine and shop. There is live music to be enjoyed before and/or after dining at Tortilla Jo's or anywhere in Downtown Disney.

Parking tickets are validated if you dine at Tortilla Jo's which means you have parking for approximately 4 hours total because the first two hours are free and the validation also gives two hours for parking. Aside from the parking validation benefit, the food at Tortilla Jo's is excellent!

We got a $20 combo plate which included beans, rice, and a choice of 3 different things such as a shredded beef taco, and two enchiladas, once shredded beef and one cheese. The food portions were great and could easily be shared among two people and a baby with $3 for an extra plate. We also filled up on chips and salsa (the salsa is the BEST!!!) and ordered guacamole prepared at the table. The guacamole was delicious! The beer on tap was also one of the best I've ever tasted.

The ambiance is good and the service is great. There was no wait time to get seated. It is a fairly large restaurant. It is kid friendly and the guacamole can be made mild enough to share with the children as well as the salsa, mild enough for children to enjoy. Tortilla Jo's is a great place to go on a date or celebrate the day with loved ones. The dining experience followed by a stroll through Downtown Disney, enjoying the live music and exciting culture creates bright and happy memories.

Disneyland's California Adventure

Today we went to California Adventure and we got to see a sneak preview of the new movie, Pete's Dragon. The sneak preview was nothing short of amazing! We got 3D glasses and made our way into the theater. For young children who do not yet have the capacity to watch an entire movie, this is perfect! The best part of the preview, aside from the story line being great, were the special affects.

There were parts in the preview where the main character was riding the dragon and the special affects in the theater made it feel like we were riding the dragon as well. Around water, water sprinkled us in the theater and the same with wind. The length of the preview was timed with perfection and watching it with the 3D glasses was the icing on the cake.

33 Tickets

I walked up to the Lost and Found window line at Disneyland. A lady standing behind me pointed me in the direction of one of the open windows. Since nobody said, "May I help you?" or "Ill be right with you." I didn't even realize there was a person at the window. I walked up to it and sure enough there was a man sitting there. He directed me back to the lost and found window I was in and I waited for the lady to help me.
While I was waiting I read the sign next to the window where the man was sitting. I realized tickets for Club 33 are found there. I went back to his window after I was finished talking with the lady at lost and found and asked him how to go about getting tickets for Club 33. He said, "You have to be a member of the club or know someone who is a member..." and mentioned it is very expensive.

Disneyland Paintings

There are a few things on the planet I really appreciate and one of them is good art. I recently fell in love with a painting that is owned by one of our family friends. The painting is from Iran and it's of a woman who looks like a girl in one of my favorite paintings at The Getty Museum. The painting from Iran is so beautiful because the woman is just glowing. She looks peaceful and graceful and lovely. The colors are brilliant and rich and I just can't help but notice that the painter must have been viewing her with the most loving eyes you can imagine.

It got me thinking about the paintings at Disneyland. There is one that captures my attention of a woman on Pirates of the Caribbean. She looks strong, bold and beautiful. Are those paintings ever for sale or are they forever paintings for each ride? There are also quite a few paintings on the Haunted Mansion ride. The Pirates of the Caribbean painting I recognized when I did a google search but I haven't had the opportunity to study the Haunted Mansion ones as well. I wonder if they are meticulously placed on each ride.

Are any of them of Walt Disney's wife or inspired by her? Did he paint?

102.7 KIISFM: Pink "Perfect" Live Acoustic

Disneyland Perspective

I'm happy to go to Disneyland because I am reminded that we humans really actually do like one another and we enjoy being around one another. I credit Walt Disney for creating an atmosphere where, whatever time it may be, whether in California, Florida, Tokyo, Shanghai or Paris, people are focused on coexisting in peace and harmony.

I walk through with my little family and am grateful when we arrive at a place where we can view the electrical parade, "Paint the Night". We sit down by the Small World ride and I decide to take a quick whirl with my son. When we were on the ride, there was a girl who walked out near our boats and pulled a curtain back with a hook in hand.

I, naturally, looked to see what was behind it and it looked to me like a little boat station. It was much like the area on Pirates of the Caribbean I talked about in a prior blog where the boat trail veers off into another. Areas where they take care of the boats... It makes sense. Anyway, when we arrived back at our spot to view the parade I couldn't help but notice that there were people EVERYWHERE!

We found some nice people to sit next to and I say they are nice because they shared their viewing space with us. We enjoyed the show! The characters were really close to perfect. We get annoyed when we aim for perfection, whether it's a good spot to view the parade, or aiming to look more like the princesses in the parade... because, us humans are born with imperfections. And us imperfect people, somehow manage to coexist with people who think our imperfections are just perfect.

The Beam

We are starting to get a little bit of a Disneyland routine going lately. This includes going in or out of the park on the Monorail. The captain's view of the park, otherwise known as the first cart on the Monorail provides the best view thus far.

When we sat in the captain's cabin we were able to hear fun facts about the park such as Disneyland being built around the Monorail. The Monorail is built on a beam and as I learned that fact I started to wonder if Walt Disney was somehow interested in the sport of gymnastics to get such an inspiration.

The good thing about going in the park from the Monorail is that you get to avoid standing in the entrance lines. If you plan on going to California Adventure it is not a good idea to take the Monorail because there is only an exit/entrance for Disneyland or Downtown Disney.

Why is this important, I'm not sure. Maybe I'm not being true to myself when I'm writing about Disneyland.

What I really feel like writing about is the fact that I have a children's book in the process of being published right now and I'm excited about it. It's called, Moon of Mine and it's about a kid having short conversations with the moon. The whole idea being the moon is like a mother to the kid. Our mothers are like a night light, guiding our hearts near or far. The moon is as consistent as the sun as the heart of a mother is for her child.

I suppose M.o.M. fits in with the topic of Disneyland because Disneyland's Main Street is like Main Street U.S.A. which is where I imagine Moon of Mine to take flight, so to speak. I'll try to give you a captain's view of the book (so to speak) to give you an idea of what it's like. I really hope you like it. My heart is now beaming. Good night.

The Lumineers - "Stubborn Love" (Official Video)

Happiest Place on Earth Seed

Why is Disneyland known as the happiest place on Earth? Is it a place that makes people feel happy? Would you think going to spend a day in Anaheim, California would make a person happy? Is it because there are always people there that lessens feelings of loneliness we experience as human beings? Is it because there is constant entertainment and interaction? Or is it because the tone is set when we go to Disneyland... we get happy knowing we are going to spend time at "the happiest place on Earth"?

I recently read an article about how senior citizens and babies need a bigger circle of people health wise. So as our babies grow and our parents grow we are the ones who help sustain those connections. Of course we can find our own Disneyland type destinations online but there is something about feeling safe around real human beings. Disneyland is magical and happy because people go there believing great things can happen.

My Kind of Love - Harriet Jane (Emeli Sande Cover)

Good Company

Walter Disney quite created a small world of his own. When he shared his ideas other people became inspired and are still inspired to this day. Why is a mouse depicted as his companion? Walt Disney inspired because he was inspired. Why was he inspired by hanging out with a mouse?
I've changed my mind about a lot of things. Things I thought to be honorable before I have learned differently and appreciate new perspective with the old. I suppose spending time with a mouse provides humble perspective as it gives ample time for solitude.
That's sort of the way it is at Disneyland. Even though everyone is together, everyone is in their own world. We share moments of perspective with one another and we appreciate the good. The smiles, the kind words, familiar faces and welcoming places make us happy.
