Harvard Class about Happiness Guiding Question to Understand

"From a very early age, we start responding by rote, by pattern. I'm happy, I'm sad, I'm angry.. I'm occasionally joyous.

This self we have is not actually us, it's just a bunch of patterns and ruts.

We misascribe our habits to being who we really are. This is why Confucius says we must submit ourselves to ritual.

Rituals break us of our habits.

What is a ritual that you have for the holidays, possibly? How do you interact in that space? How do you dress, eat, etc.?"
