Roots Deep
The support we have blesses us so
We have so much, enough to grow
Our family and loved ones, roots deep like a tree
Fast, graceful and enduring, the weeping willow is
Beautiful like water from a well placed underground
Close to the center of the Earth where all of creation is formed
Like the soil that comes from a volcano
Prolific creation

Quiet Space
I don't feel like music
I've been listening to it all day
The way I constantly contradict myself when I talk to my kids
Makes my head spin in circles
Sometimes I think I'm just talking out loud to myself
Correcting my mistakes and teaching myself how to go about life

Hopeful Comfort
Finding some sort of routine in my life helps me to feel good, like I have something to look forward to. Even if it's just a cup of coffee in the morning or a cup of tea in the afternoon.
Even if it's watching the sunrise or the sunset each day.
Even if it's my baby waking me up way earlier than I'd like.
Even if it's the dogs asking to go outside for their duties.
Looking at the father of my children.
Looking into the eyes of my children.
Spending time with my mom and dad.
A visit with my brother or my sister and their families.
Jotting down thoughts about life.
What goals to set for 2018, 2019, 2020...

The Happiest Hello
When I try to find my writers voice I realize it's been silent for so long

The voice of an artist is like a rare bird

Dream Catcher
I think dream catchers are made to catch all of our good dreams and keep them safe for us. Then, the dream catchers also catch the bad dreams and smash them into billions of pieces & throw them into an eruptive volcano so that they no longer exist.

I Want to Hear that Soulful Laughter
I want to hear that soulful laughter.
The kind that comes from deep within a person.
The kind that can make someone feel so good it becomes that contagious sort of laughter.
When my babies laugh, I might not laugh on the outside but I'm usually beaming from ear to ear on the inside.
I love to hear that soulful laughter.
I love to see others laugh like that.
And when we get to laugh like that, we know how it feels to soulfully laugh.

A place that warms my heart. Not because of all of the lights and fun times but the people who've embraced me like one of their kind. Some I've known my entire life and some have manifested from that love. Happy Holidays to some of my favorite people in the entire universe.

Ziiiiinnnnnnggggg
The holiday season has arrived and we are going into celebration mode. A time for family, friends, laughter and good cheer. Decorations light homes and hearts like ziiiinnnnngggg (onomatopoeia). People feel happy, togetherness and warm wishes.
This is a time, along with every other moment we have in our lifetimes, to enjoy, smile and wish. My son Ellington inspired me making the ornament with these words because those were ones he chose. In the definition of enjoy it says "take" and that is something that made me look twice at the meaning. The reason for this is because I've been thinking about when it's fair to take and when we should just accept what is given.
In the definition for the word enjoy it says, "take delight or pleasure in". I suppose this is when it's acceptable to "take". This holiday season, I'm choosing to take delight and pleasure in the real ziiiinnnggers. The kind of people, places, things or ideas that bring the true spirit of Christmas to life.
